Luminita A. Todor, who is a Partner with the firm, earned a PhD in Nuclear Experimental Physics from Old Dominion University in 2000, and a J.D. from George Mason Law School in 2008. She is admitted to practice law in Virginia and to represent inventors before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

 

Dr. Todor has extensive experience in scientific research both in the U.S. and in Romania. She worked as a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Carnegie Mellon University and as a Visiting Professor at the University of Richmond. While preparing and analyzing electron beam nuclear experiments at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (in Newport News, Virginia), she had to master problem solving in multiple technologies: magnets, cryogenics, optics, data acquisition and processing, electronics, etc.

 

Her previous experience in real-time quality control systems (gathered while working at the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics in Bucharest, Romania) turned out to have been a useful knowledge base. She is author to over 100 articles.

 

After turning the focus of her career from scientific research to intellectual property, Dr. Todor worked for several years in one of the leading firms in patent prosecution located in Washington D.C., using her technical and legal skills in assisting inventors to obtain patents for mechanical, electrical, computer hardware, automatic data processing, medical devices, telecommunication, plasma displays, semiconductor devices, manufacturing, etc. patent applications.
